A downloadable metroidvania

Eons ago, the Crypt Masters — power hungry necromancers who ruled the world through fear and violence — were defeated by a group of brave heroes known as the Lunar Knights. The moon-worshiping warrior-witches drove the Crypt Masters and their undead armies to the outer moons, sealing them behind unbreakable magical gates.

Now, a rare lunar conjunction offers the Crypt Masters an opportunity to undo the magic that seals them away. As one of the faithful and devoted Lunar Knights, it is your destiny to travel to the haunted moons and defeat the necromancers in their ruined castles, lest the world fall under their spell once again...

Castle Moons is a a solo, roguelike TTRPG designed to replicate the heroic exploration of metroidvania games. The mechanics are derived from and loosely compatible with Cairn, but have been adapted to make heroic solo adventuring fun and feasible. All the rules you need to play are contained in this book, but if you wish to expand your Castle Moons gameplay, you should be able to add creatures, items, and NPCs from any Cairn-compatible game with minimal adaptation.

Castle Moons is a work in progress. I am currently working on the "so alpha, it's omega" playtest version and plan to launch an itchfunding campaign when it is ready to release. You'll be able to purchase the game at a steep discount in order to support its development and will automatically receive all updates and access to the full game once it is complete.
